Say Harley Davidson club and a lot of people think of the events where drinking and nudity prevail. While that may be true in some instances, it is not the prevailing wind in the Harley Davidson culture of today. Clubs organize prayer meetings, charitable events, and get together to ride the wind for the sheer enjoyment of riding. There are some very famous Harley clubs and events, but there are thousands of just for fun rides to be had, also.

Harley Davidson forums cover everything from part swaps to dating services. These forums are not put together to pass on stories, but to offer help to fellow bikers. They have gone a little commercial by selling ads. All of the ads are a help of some kind to a biker. They provide links to the NHTSA so you can complain about flimsy and defective helmets, or find where the next rally is in your state or anywhere in the nation. Some link you to hard to find parts. Where else could you find what you need for an old panhead or knucklehead motor? The forums differ greatly, so go online to find the one that best suits your needs.

Who hasn’t heard of a Harley Davidson poker run? These simple, fun events can be held for charity or profit. No one seems to care either way. What does it matter. The point is to ride from destination to destination, have a few laughs, maybe a beer. Sure you draw a card at each stop. Your lady will probably be keeping track of that though, so all you have to do is enjoy the breeze and the open road. Maybe you get the best hand, maybe not. Who cares anyway.

Over the years there have been some well known Harley Davidson clubs, the Black Panthers MC, and the Boozefighters, are two of the oldest clubs in the country. Both were formed in 1946 and still exist today. Sadly, most people think of the Hell’s Angels tearing up towns and killing people while dealing drugs and guns when they think of biker clubs. Today that is the exception to the norm. Most bikers are hard working citizens that pay taxes, obey the laws, and contribute to the welfare of society. However, who can blame them for the occasional party. Sure bikers like to get together to ride and enjoy the countryside. This is not only true in the United States, but all of the other countries where someone has started a Harley Davidson club.

It doesn’t matter who you are, there is a Harley Davidson club or event that will fit your personality. It may not be Sturgis, Daytona, or Wietzel’s, but you can find a group of people who share the love of the road and wind who are willing to band together for the ride.
